Rosy Mound is one of those places where the journey to the lake is part of the experience.

The trails wind through woods, plenty of stairs and dunes before finally opening to views of Lake Michigan. From high above the shoreline, you can look across the trees and dune grass and see the Grand Haven lighthouse in the distance.

That view was what I wanted to capture in this painting—the layers of land, trees and water that make our Lake Michigan shoreline so beautiful.

It’s a reminder that sometimes slowing down isn't simply about arriving at a destination. It's about taking the time to notice everything along the way.
