The Light We’re Given
Original Oil Painting | 40 x 16 inches
A quiet shoreline at dusk, where sky and water reflect one another in soft layers of light.
The Light We’re Given captures the stillness of a summer evening along the lake — blush tones settling into the horizon while deep blues move gently across the water’s surface. Framed by leafy trees and shoreline grasses, the composition invites the viewer into a peaceful, contemplative moment at the water’s edge.
Expressive, impressionistic brushwork creates movement in both the foliage and the waves, while the elongated 40 x 16 format enhances the feeling of openness and horizon.
This original oil painting is ideal for:
• Over-sofa wall art
• Lake house interiors
• Coastal-inspired homes
• Long horizontal landscape spaces
• Michigan lakeshore collectors
The soft pastel sky balanced against bold shoreline blues gives this piece a calm yet confident presence — bringing natural light and tranquility into any room.
Painted in oil on canvas, this is a one-of-a-kind original by Christi Dreese.
