Lake Watch captures a quiet moment along the lakeshore — weathered pier pilings rising from layered blue water while seabirds stand watch against a soft, golden sky.

Studio Story
This painting began with a photograph taken from my boat while looking back toward the Lake Michigan shoreline. A small group of seagulls had gathered along an old seawall, quietly watching the water.

I loved the simplicity of the scene—the soft tan of the sand and weathered wall against all those beautiful blues, with the tiny white birds adding just enough life and movement.

It was one of those ordinary moments on the lake that becomes memorable simply because you stop long enough to notice it.
