Studio Story

In Every Drop of Water There Is a Story of Life was created from many different photo references rather than a single place or day.

I wanted to capture the kind of sunset that makes you stop and look—the brilliant orange light against deep blues and greens, with those colors reflecting and shifting through the water.

There is something almost magnetic about Lake Michigan. It has a presence that can feel peaceful, powerful, mysterious, and endless all at once.

That is what I wanted this painting to hold onto: the beauty of the light, the depth of the water, and the feeling that the lake is always telling us something if we slow down long enough to notice.
