11 x 14 FRAME Custom Cut Silver Beaded Picture Frame - Professional Framer

The Art of Gifting

The next time you need the perfect gift, consider custom framing a piece of art, a special photo, or a memento. Flowers last a few days, a nice dinner lasts a couple hours, but frames can last a lifetime. Because so many things can be custom framed,  you can easily come up with a unique gift for every occasion. Here are some ideas to get your own thoughts flowing.

ANNIVERSARIES or VALENTINE’S DAY
Frame a portrait of yourself or with your significant other.
If the two of you have been on a recent trip, frame a special
memory, like the Aboriginal painting shown below.

THE BIRTH of a BABY
When someone has a baby, a great way to celebrate the
occasion is with a frame to insert pictures in, frame the birth
announcement, or ask your local framer if they can cut out
the baby’s name in a mat.

GRADUATIONS
A graduate will generally appreciate having their diploma
custom framed after working all those years to get it! For
those who were involved in school activities, they may also
enjoy a shadowbox filled with their school memories. Of
course their graduation portrait can be framed as well.

WEDDINGS
Framed wedding memorabilia makes a great gift for the bride
and groom or a treasue for their parents. Wedding pictures,
invitations and flowers are all special keepsakes.

BIRTHDAYS or JUST BECAUSE DAYS
We all have different tastes and interests. Think of something
to frame that will mean a lot to the person you plan to give it to.
Consider a small quilt or painting you made for them. Everyone
can use a framed mirror and you can frame it to suit a specific
room decor. If you are undecided, go to your local frame shop
and purchase a gift certificate.

         GIVE YOURSELF A GIFT!
From time to time we all deserve to purchase something for
ourselves. You may have a special keepsake you have been
saving that would look perfect in a nice frame. Perhaps you need
to find a great piece of art to complete a newly decorated room.

Artist Christi Dreese-Carter will be showcasing her painting at the Cathedral Square for Artprize 2010!

Artist Christi Dreese-Carter just recently signed a contract to place her abstract painting “Dream as if you will live forever, live as if you will die today” at the Diocese of Grand Rapids – Cathedral Square.  A beautiful building and grounds that will have a great line up of artists.  Many of the artists are either Aquinas College professors and alumni with a spectacular range of works from 2D paintings to large sculptures to be shown inside on the 2nd floor and also on the grounds of Cathedral Square.

Cathedral Square is going to be one of the  registration and exhibiting centers for artprize.  They will also have a shuttle bus running to and from the exhibit.

ABOUT CATHEDRAL SQUARE
Anchored by the 125 year old Cathedral of Saint Andrew, Cathedral Square is an 11.5 acre park-like area in the Heartside District of downtown Grand Rapids. Located on the corner of Wealthy Street and Division Ave. South, Cathedral Square includes the cathedral, Cathedral Square Center/Wege Conference Center, Catholic Central High School, Keeler Plaza, Piazza Secchia and Wege Gardens.

Reminiscent of a European square where people gather for religious and community celebrations, Cathedral Square features Piazza Secchia which is modeled after Michelangelo’s Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome. The square’s gardens are beautifully landscaped and welcome guests to meander on the pedestrian-friendly, winding walk ways.

The Cathedral Square Center offers spacious interior exhibition space.

ACEO Turns Out To Be A Hot Item

I’ve created 12 new ACEO (Art Trading Cards) since I’ve sold 7 in the past few days.  They are original, colorful, quirky, one-of-a-kind, small, and represent pieces of my artwork.   I can even use the small paintings as a reference for a large future painting.  6 were sent out to a client in Idaho yesterday and 1 more is being mailed off to a customer in Arizona.  A great way to market work and get my name out there.
